Dinosaur Week: Sensory and Sorting

We started off our Dinosaur week today!  Monkey J actually requested it when I asked him what he wanted this week's unit to be, so we started today off with a dinosaur breakfast!

Roar!

Monkey A feeding Spiny the Spinosaurus:

I always like to introduce the weekly theme with a sensory bin as way to provide a general picture to the kids:

Always a good idea to put a sheet under the bin if playing indoors ;)  I like to provide a large spelling of the word.  Amazingly, by the end of the day, Monkey J could pick out the word, "Dinosaur" from a list of other words!

We played with our dino felt board (you can find them at Michael's store or through Amazon.com)

After naps, we worked on some finding differences worksheets:

I had printed them off the internet, but my mind is drawing a blank as to which site...will update with link soon:

Julian had to circle which dinosaur was different:

And we used some dinosaur stamping from our Melissa and Doug Dinosaur Stamp Set

Can't wait to see what the rest of our Dinosaur week will bring!!
