Purple Sand Paint!

We continued our purple week with some purple sand paint.  It's much easier than you might think to make.  You simply need some sand (we got ours from The Dollar Tree), a bowl, and some Hawaiian Punch Wild berry Packets:

Mix the ingredients together, until you get the color and scent just right:

It smells SO yummy!

In order to paint with it, simply add a bit of water to it:

Wet paint is super fun to touch!

Provide some paint brushes and paint rollers:

And see what they create!
 

When the paint dries, you're left with some beautiful, shiny art!

Ice Cube Fishing

This is an activity that we did back in April just as the weather was getting warm, but now that it's so hot out, I thought I'd post it because we had a blast doing it!  To make the water more visually enticing, I added food coloring to each compartment of our water table:

We then brought out our ice cube tray:

And dropped the ice in the water:

The monkeys were handed nets:

And had a blast fishing for the ice!

Once the rain stops here in Atlanta we will probably do this activity again!  Happy ice fishing!
